Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή θυμάται και τιμά τη Μελίνα Μερκούρη

Την προσφορά και το έργο της Μελίνας Μερκούρη, τιμά με αναρτήσεις στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή.

«Σήμερα τιμούμε την Ελληνίδα πολιτικό και ηθοποιό Μελίνα Μερκούρη, που γεννήθηκε πριν από 100 χρόνια. Ύψωσε τη φωνή της ενάντια στη χούντα. Όταν αποκαταστάθηκε η δημοκρατία έγινε πρωταθλήτρια της ελληνικής τέχνης και πολιτισμού και δημιουργός της Ευρωπαϊκής Πολιτιστικής πρωτεύουσας» αναφέρει η Επιτροπή στο Twitter.

100 years ago, the 🇬🇷 Greek actor, politician and champion for culture Melina Mercouri was born.

Back in 1967 when the colonels’ junta took control of Greece, Mercouri was a celebrated actor in Greece and abroad. She took on a leading role in the movement to overthrow the fascist junta, for which she faced an assassination attempt and had her Greek passport revoked.
